 don’t know about you but throughout my entire life I’ve had an attraction to Spirit, mostly experiencing God as a friend and companion, rather than as the vengeful and judging figure we’re some times taught to fear.
After being raised mildly Protestant, early in my life I discovered my interest in religion waning. And it almost completely ended during my Philosophy 101 course in college. After making anyone who hinted of spiritual and religious beliefs feel like a fool, the professor exclaimed that: “if you couldn’t taste it, feel it, hear it, smell it, or see it, it didn’t exist.”
Hi my name is Ted Murray and I have to tell you at that moment I wondered about the angry, spiteful and obviously miserable human being standing in front of me. I decided that even if he might be right, I would never agree with his brand of logic.
In fact, if he was an example and the result of such “logic” I would rather risk being wrong. I would take care to associate with the happy people who had a purpose in life that was bigger than themselves, than to destroy my life with purely mental gymnastics.

I’m sharing this with you now because a lot of miracles followed that huge decision. First, I left college to venture to Hawaii to help establish an international tennis management company, which had initially a very sincere spiritual foundation.
I embraced the changes and new challenges, and found myself in a situation where I was in way-over-my-head on my first solo assignment. I was expected to manage a world-class tennis facility in San Juan, Puerto Rico. I had to work with a very tough hotel general manager.
To make matters worse, I was following in the footsteps of the fired local professional, Juan Rios. He’s one of the legends of tennis in Puerto Rico and he had a ton of loyal fans and huge local support.
The hotel manager himself had the reputation of being an intimidating negotiator, and was of the typical old-school command and control mold. Needless to say, I was extremely nervous and under tremendous pressure when I had my first meeting with my new boss.
After all, I was a green, wet behind the ears, twenty-year young tennis professional and could only pray for a miracle in order to survive and succeed. We started with the typical first introductions and naturally came to “where are you from?”

That’s the exact moment

That’s the exact moment grace smiled down upon me. We were amazed to discover that we were not only both from Indiana, but from the same small town of 10,000 people, Bluffton. We actually had mutual friends there!
From that moment on my boss treated me like a son and made my life very easy. With these amazing coincidences, my new career was blissfully on track. I spent the next twenty years traveling the world as a tennis professional and devotee, and I was able to experience first hand the common spiritual values of all types of people on many paths.
So since then my wish has been to find a way to tap into the universal knowledge that is common to everyone and discover the simple essence that is at the heart of all spiritual traditions on our great planet.
As is usually the case within our universe, I found myself guided to the necessary people and places that would help me on my journey.
Soon I found myself at one of the most amazing seminars (thanks to Sue Meyers and www.breakthruinstitute.com) and was taught to journal with my non-dominant hand. Don’t worry if you don’t know what I’m talking about here, it’s just an easy way to say that I was writing with my left hand even though I’m right handed.
By doing this it allows you to kind of disengage your conscious mind and let the “thoughts” from your soul come through. Unfortunately, those thoughts came initially in a form that was completely un-readable. As you can imagine I had a really hard time deciphering my own handwriting.
As I continued to work on the non-dominant hand journaling process after the seminar, I thought it would be better to use the computer. And since then the most profound and eloquent words have been flowing and form the foundation for this collection.
I don’t hear voices, just words
coming clearly into my head through my soul...
It’s not easy to describe this incredible process exactly, but after a bit of early morning meditation, I draw from several common oracle cards and contemplate their meaning. Next, I sit in silence, allowing “thoughts” to flow from deep within, and a subsequent clarity usually sparks the message for that day.
I then simply type non-stop, almost like I’m taking dictation. The difference being that I don’t hear voices, just words coming clearly into my head through my soul. This seems to be a divine process that is available to anyone, as we all have access to the same universal knowledge.
There’s no way I can isolate what’s coming from what seems to be some external spiritual source and what’s coming from my own heart. I prefer to think that there is truly no difference.
The messages have often challenged me to simply let go, to live and speak my truth, to consider the plight of others, and to embrace change and my spiritual power, and often chastise me for my lack of surrender to Spirit. However, the essence has always been love, purity and clarity, and I am often encouraged to share this wisdom with others.
They reflect their love and convey a process, clarity and universal knowledge that are available to everyone, asking each of us to embrace change and endless possibility, awaken to the true nature of the soul, manifest passion, beauty and creative power, and live simply to adore and be of service to our fellow man.
Since it is indeed universal, God seems to be speaking to us all in Love Manifests Life: Messages from the Heart. By reading these messages and pondering their meaning in your life I hope that my purpose of sharing will be fulfilled in your experience, and that you will in-turn share this wonderful knowledge with others.
